gender ultrasound boyAt Baby to Be 4D Ultrasound Clinic, our state of the art technology allows us to confidently determine the gender of your baby at 17 weeks.

During the first 20 weeks of your pregnancy, we use the 2D black and white software to accurately determine your baby’s sex. After the first 20 weeks, we can often demonstrate the baby’s gender in 2D and 3D/4D as the baby’s genitals have grown large enough to be picked up by the 3D software.

When determining gender, we are hoping to see the baby with legs uncrossgender ultrasound girled. We will then focus our ultrasound on the genital area. When seeing the baby in the ideal position we will be presented with either two circles or three lines. Two circles of differing size will indicate a scrotum and penis – a little boy. Three lines (or the “cheeseburger sign”) will indicate a clitoris and the two labia – a little girl.

At Baby to Be, our staff members will look at the region multiple times to ensure an accurate prediction of gender. We will also explain the images as they appear on the screen to ensure you can be as confident of your baby’s gender as we are.
